After several dry days, it's easy to assume everything around the house is working as it should. Then an August storm rolls through, and water shows up somewhere it doesn't belong.

Maybe one gutter spills over while the others drain normally. A puddle might form beside the front steps, or the basement may smell damp the next morning. None of those things automatically points to a major repair, but they're worth checking.
